Aelia Marcia Euphemia:
Wife of Anthemius;
Daughter of Marcian;
Mother of Alypia;
Mother-in-law of Ricimer.
Aelia Marcia Euphemia, the only daughter of the eastern emperor Marcian (450-457) became wife of Anthemius (467-472) in 453. The couple had four known sons: Anthemiolus, Fl. Marcianus, Procopius Anthemius, and Romulus. A dauther was married to the Master of Soldiers Ricimer. She must have remained Augusta until 471 when Anthemius had another spouse.
