Silbannacus
Usurper in Gaul (?) AD 248 (circa)
Marcus Silbannacus.
Silbannacus claim to the purple is known only through his coins. He was a military commander on the Rhine and used the troubled time of 248 to revolt against Philip the Arab. His base was most probably in Lorraine, from where these rare issues come. Nothing more is known about him.
