Boreas
The Greek god of the North Wind. Son of Eos and Astraeus. Brother of Eurus, Zephyrus, and Notus. He has two sons, two daughters and twelve mares. He is depicted as a very muscular man with wings. Boreas kidnapped Oreithyia, the daughter of the Athenian king. According to legend, in a battle between Athens and the Persian navy of Xerxes, the Athenians pleaded for Boreas’ help. Boreas used the power of the North Wind and sank the Persian ships.
