The daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, rulers of Ethiopia. Andromeda was chained to a rock as prey for a sea monster sent by Poseidon who was enraged by Cassiopeia’s boasting that she was more beautiful than the Nereids. Perseus rescued Andromeda and married her.
