Biography: Aelia Flavia Flacilla hailed from Spain and was Theodosius I' first wife and mother of his sons Honorius and Arcadius, who went on to rule the divided empire after Theodosius's death. The marriage must have occurred about 376 and by 386 she disappeared from the stage to clear it for Theodosius's second marriage.
