Reverse: SALVS REIPUBLIKAE - Victory seated right, inscribing Christo-gram on a shield set on a rectangular base.

Aelia Flaccilla - Aelia Flavia Flaccilla: Wife of Theodosius I; Mother of Arcadius and Honorius; Step-mother of Galla Placidia; Mother-inilaw of Aelis Eudoxia Grandmother of Aelia Pulcheria and Theodosius II.

Mints: Alexandria, Antioch, Constantinopolis, Cyzicus, Heraclea, Nicomedia, Siscia, Thessalonica.

Biography: Aelia Flavia Flacilla hailed from Spain and was Theodosius I' first wife and mother of his sons Honorius and Arcadius, who went on to rule the divided empire after Theodosius's death. The marriage must have occurred about 376 and by 386 she disappeared from the stage to clear it for Theodosius's second marriage.
